Welcome

Welcome to the Honor Oak Christian Fellowship Centre (HOCFC) website.

This independent evangelical fellowship first occupied the present site in December 1926 under the leadership of Mr T. Austin-Sparks.

In 2006 it was affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).

Our Mission

We exist to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and to encourage and equip people to know Him better and follow Him more closely.  We are therefore concerned to study the Bible, as individuals and together, and seek the needed spiritual understanding.

Church Outline

The Fellowship is an ethnically and socially diverse group who largely live locally, celebrate their unity in Christ and seek to follow Him as Lord.  The Lord's Table is an integral part of our Sunday worship.  However, our approach could be described as child-friendly.  Provision is made for children within our morning meeting but there is also separate provision for the young when the teaching of adults is taking place.

The fellowship has had a strong missionary emphasis throughout its existence with close connections with some indigenous overseas work. At the present time it has firm connections with Operation Mobilisation, SIM and the Wycliffe Bible Translators.

The church is led by three elders, supported by a group of deacons who supervise the administration of the practical areas of church activity.
